Vanilla Pod Restaurant & Bar Vanilla Pod Restaurant & Bar was established in 2004. Our young and dynamic restaurant offers fine Continental cuisine in a serene setting surrounded by a mature vintage orchid display garden. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, our diners have a choice of dinning in air-conditioned comfort or in an alfresco setting. Diners and chefs love a touch of vanilla in many fine cuisine, beverages and desserts, but only a minority is aware of the origin of Vanilla. The word Vanilla is derived from the Spanish name of the spice, Vainilla. Vanilla beans are seed pods of the tropical orchid plant, Vanilla Planifolia and it has been widely used to add flavor to food and beverages since 16th century. Our restaurant Vanilla Pod symbolizes our chef's philosophy in ensuring unique flavoring in all his cuisine just like the characteristics of the spice - vanilla.
Being a restaurant in the famous orchid garden, our team of chefs has created a range of orchid cuisine, where fresh orchids are used as one of the ingredients in our signature orchid dishes. The Anne Black Crabmeat Salad and the Bangkok Gold Ocean Crawlers are a couple of examples. These orchid dishes have definitely introduced a new perspective on appreciation of the flowers! Dining at our restaurant will never be complete without our vodka based signature cocktail – Cosmo 1893.
