Mandai Orchid Garden has an Education Centre complete with a plant tissue culture laboratory on its premises. The Education Centre is able to provide students and adults with an opportunity to explore the large varieties of plant life. They will also have the unique experience of working in an R & D environment, staffed by experts in the fields of horticulture & orchid hybridisation.

Plant Culture & Cloning Made Easy
Duration: 6hr per phase (2 phases)

Students will be taught practical and theoretical aspects involved in orchid seed germination and cloning. Students will appreciate the importance of plant tissue culture in the field of biotechnology.

Create Your Very Own Orchid Hybrid
Duration: 9hr per phase (2 phases)

Students will participate in the creation, production and marketing of a new hybrid and in the process developing their spirit of entrepreneurship.

All You Need To Know About Plant Tissue Culture
Duration: 9 - 12hrs

Teachers will develop practical skills in orchid hybridisation, seed sowing, cloning of orchids and weaning of plantlets.

The Discovery Tour
Duration: 2hr

This tour will introduce students to various concepts in Plant Tissue Culture and orchid hybridization. A short walk around the orchid and the water gardens is included. The agenda for this program is flexible and can be adapted as needed.
